For $500m we have the US military investing in a laser weapons system that decimate drone swarms. With the military budget allowed this cost is just a talking point. The drone destroyer laser gun is worth every tax revenue, undeniably so.

You never know who is a drone mastermind. Your boi could be basically retired and working to gather supplies for a pirate drone fleet.
